Summer Hours
Summer hours for the library suck.

Monday:	12 - 8
Tuesday:	10 - 6
Wednesday:	10 - 6
Thursday:	10 - 8
Friday:	1 - 5
Saturday	Closed
Sunday:	Closed

What kind of crap is that?

That is the sort of crap that happens when summer hits, the staff want their vacations, and no one wants to cough up the cash to pay for summer help to fill in the empty spaces.

There are days this summer when I know I'm the only person who'll be in my department, and it'll be wild, and I'll cry. There are also already days when I'mbeing sent to the branch libraries to cover for people who are out. It takes a LOT of absent people for them to work down to my department for branch time.

Our library has been cutting hours for years now.

IIRC, during our non-summer hours it's closed Fridays and Sundays. Used to be just Sundays a couple of years ago.

I'd been going to the library in Hamden (one of New Haven's suburban neighbors) instead since their library is open every day during non-summer hours. They're still closed weekends during the summer, but their weekday hours are still better than New Haven's.
